Five Workout Programs that Work for the Whole family
Staying healthy to me means staying in shape. I enjoy working out and I like to encourage my children to do the same. I am proud to say that now that they are both teenagers they have both found workout programs that work for them.
I believe that they enjoy exercise today because I encouraged them to exercise when they were younger. I did this because I understand that a healthy living program includes exercise and is extremely beneficial for everyone no matter their age.
Exercise – The Natural Mental Health Secret
Exercise is one of my biggest passions in life. It is also one of the world’s greatest natural mental and physical health secrets. It’s like maintenance of your car that was emphasized in that old commercial that said “Pay me now or pay me later”. A healthy living program that includes regular exercise will stave off many of the diseases that seem to come with “old age”, whatever that is.
When I was a kid I didn’t think about exercise as something I needed to do, I just did it. I would go to the playground and play baseball or basketball. We would find an empty lot and play soccer or football. I walked everywhere, rode my bike, climbed trees and rode the skateboard I made out of a wooden board and steel skate wheels. Exercise came naturally. It wasn’t a health secret it was just something that happened naturally in my life.
Today it’s different. I don’t have time to play sports on the playground. Instead of walking I get in my car. I don’t even own a bike or a skateboard anymore. So for me to get exercise I have to plan it into my day. Because of my fanaticism I have managed to stay in excellent shape. My body is in the same kind of shape I was in my 20’s and 30’s. I believe that one result of this is that it keeps my mind sharp.
As you might have guessed, because of my commitment to exercise I regularly tout its benefits to people all the time. Whether it’s training in the martial arts, working out in the gym or just biking or walking regularly, I personally believe that the discipline of a regular exercise program is excellent for staying fit and healthy. Studies are now showing that exercise is also one of the best ways to improve your cognitive abilities and memory.

How to relieve the stress and anxiety caused by life’s changes
The one constant in life is change. In fact, change is happening around us, in us, through us, and about us all the time. Some changes will be good, some bad, and some won’t make any difference at all. Some changes you like, some you hate, and others just don’t matter.
Changes you like you’ll deal with easily. You’ll probably look forward to them. But what about the changes in life that aren’t so great? How do you handle those?
Let’s take a look at the stress and anxiety caused by some of these common changes and the best stress coping skills to deal with them.
Job Loss
Right now job loss is on the forefront of almost every American’s mind. This type of change can produce a lit of anxiety and be very stressful, if you allow it to be. However, there are ways to look at the situation so job loss doesn’t have to be so stressful.
The Symptoms of an Anxiety Attack
Have you ever had an anxiety attack? If you have you know how helpless they can make you feel. And once they occur they can be difficult to get under control.
Anxiety attacks are some of the most feared and misunderstood medical conditions afflicting people today. While there is no clear agreement between doctors and scientists about what actually causes an anxiety attack, it has become perfectly clear what some of the major symptoms of an anxiety attack are.
Since there is no conclusive data that can tell us what causes anxiety attacks there are also no one size fits all cure. Since there are so many symptoms of an anxiety attack it is also difficult to know exactly what the right treatment is.
So what are the symptoms of an anxiety attack and what can you do about them? Let’s take a look.

Does Hypnosis Really Work?
I started using self hypnosis when I was in college. That was back in the early 1980’s. Since then I’ve used hypnosis’ subliminal power to help both myself and others make quick and lasting changes. I believe that it is one of the most powerful tools for helping people make significant life changes.
Over the years I have found that some people perceive hypnosis as evil and manipulative. Some people have even pointed to different scriptures to “prove” their point. I obviously don’t agree with these people but I still respect their opinions.
Other people see hypnosis as a cure-all for all kinds of conditions, from the ability to lose weight with hypnosis to finding the “key” to financial success. Many people have found hypnotherapy an effective method to quit smoking. Some hypnotists claim they can help a person quit smoking by suggesting that cigarette smoke will cause him to feel nauseous – so that every time somebody lights up, the client will start to feel dizzy and may even feel like throwing up. I’m not so sure that I agree with this approach but it does seem to work for some people.
Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Since I’m a hypnotist, people ask me all the time if hypnosis really works. Since I’m a professional hypnotist, I find this hilarious. I mean what do they expect me to say, “No, it’s all bunk”? I don’t really believe that’s the question these people are asking me. So what are they really asking me?
I think people are asking, “Is hypnosis a magic bullet? Can I lose weight with hypnosis or use hypnotism to quit smoking or gain more confidence, or (fill in the blank for whatever the issue this person is experiencing).” My answer would be “yes, if you want it to be.”
First of all hypnosis isn’t magic. No matter what stage hypnotists would have you believe you can’t be made to do anything you don’t want to do while in hypnosis. If we could, you would see hypnotists, like Magneto in the Spiderman Comic book series, go into banks and have the tellers give them all their money. Hypnosis just doesn’t work like that.
So to answer, “How can I lose weight with hypnosis or use hypnotism to quit smoking or gain more confidence, or (fill in the blank).” You have to look at how the subconscious mind works. Hypnosis works by helping to align your conscious goals with your subconscious habitual actions. It does this by helping you change your subconscious self perception into a more empowering one.
